Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Officials released the statement below:

"During tonight's RodeoHouston chuck wagon races, a driver fell out of his wagon and was removed from the arena floor on a stretcher as a precaution. He is stable and has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

As a result of the incident, two horses pulling the wagon fell. Both horses walked out of the rodeo arena on their own and were examined by an on-site board-certified veterinarian. One horse had a small abrasion and mild muscle soreness and is expected to make a full recovery. The other horse had no injuries. Both were released to their owner and have been cleared to perform in upcoming performances at their owner's discretion.

The safety of our human and animal athletes, as well as our guests, is of the utmost importance to RodeoHouston. Medical and veterinary professionals, including the RodeoHouston Sports Medicine team, are on staff in NRG Stadium during all performances."
