Business owner Dustin Batson of College Station says he wanted to help David Roberson, who claimed he was a Marine Vet.

"A few minutes later he asked me for a job, hired him on the spot. He gave me no reason to doubt him," Batson said.

As time went on things didn't add up, a vet organization called even questioning if Roberson was a Marine.

"We started looking into it and we discovered the years he said he was in the Marine Corp he was actually in prison for sexual assault," said Batson.

Roberson is no longer on the job and is in the Brazos County Jail tonight.

He was accused of lying to investigators. Deputies in Galveston County want to question him on a warrant for theft of a firearm. He's also a registered sex offender in the state of Texas for attempting to sexually assault a minor.

His foster mother in Pasadena didn't want to talk on camera, but she defended him saying while he's not a Marine he was looking for a place to belong and needs help. She says he's not who he's being made out to be and believes he deserves another chance after a rough upbringing.

But for the vets who were trying to help him, they feel misled and frustrated.
