A popular schoolyard game may sound like fun, but parents beware if your child has abrasions and cuts on their skin.

The dangerous 'eraser challenge' involves children rubbing erasers across their skin while having to do or say something.

Aside from the burns, the danger is in the different type of infections that can be caused by rubbing a dirty eraser into a wound.

Several schools across the nation are speaking out about the game, including East Iredell Middle School in Statesville, N.C.

The eraser burns can also lead to an infection and other diseases such as hepatitis and HIV.
