Raging attic fire destroys home in NE Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A fire completely destroyed a home in northeast Houston overnight.

Firefighters rushed to Bretshire Drive and Rebel Road just before 10:50 p.m., and found flames coming from the top of the house.

The people who live there weren't home at the time of the fire.

It appears the fire started in the back patio and then spread to an attic space, according to investigators.

HFD said the home was a total loss. No one was injured in the blaze.
