Detroit mom turns son in after seeing surveillance video

DETROIT -- A Detroit mother turned her 12-year-old son into police after seeing him in a video of a robbery.

Police said a 20-year-old was with the child and another teen inside a restaurant in Detroit when a struggle over cash begins.

When police released the video, the woman recognized her son and turned him in.

"I had to do it," the woman told WXYZ.

The woman says she wants to keep her son from a life of crime.
