Flames engulf King Kong statue during movie premiere

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam (KTRK) -- In a dramatic scene seemingly straight out of a movie, a King Kong statue burst into flames during a premiere event for the film 'Kong: Skull Island.'

The event was taking place at a mall in Vietnam when flames from a model volcano set the statue ablaze.

The fiery accident engulfed the entire King Kong statue in flames and destroying the stage in the process, according to reports from Vietnam's state-run media.

It's not immediately clear if anybody was injured in the inferno.
