Woman accused of stealing $20,000 from daycare, charged with felony theft

MONTGOMERY, TX (KTRK) -- A Montgomery County woman has been charged with felony theft after allegedly stealing $20,000 from a preschool over a six-year period.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Gina Denise Sarver worked as director of Tomorrow's Promise Preschool from 2009 to 2015 before leaving to start her own daycare.

After she left, the daycare found $20,000 worth of funds were unaccounted for.

Sarver would ask clients to leave the "payee" line blank on their tuition checks and she would cash the checks for herself.
