HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A teenager has been charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of his father, police say.

Houston police arrested a young teen after they say he stabbed his father, 34-year-old Charles Taylor, in the neck on Saturday in the 10400 block of South Drive.

Police say after the teen stabbed his father, Taylor left the family's apartment to get help and collapsed in front of their neighbor's door.

Taylor was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. His son was arrested at the scene.

Meanwhile, the teen is at the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department.
