HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An apartment fire leaves at least three families displaced.

It happened at a complex off of I-45 and Airtex Boulevard.

Firefighters say it started around 3 a.m. At least three apartment units suffered serious damage.

Up to 35 firefighters battled the fire. Everyone made it out safely.

Leticia Sauceda, her husband and their six children made it out. She's grateful for that.

"Having my kids alive because I don't have nothing else. I don't have clothes. I don't have food. Everything burned down," said Leticia Sauceda.

Sauceda does not have insurance to coverage the damages.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Management from the Park Trails Apartments said a dozen units sustained damage. They have been able to relocate all the tenants living in those units to other vacant units on the property.

They also are giving them next month's rent free.

Plus, they are collecting clothing and other items at their front office if you would like to donate.

The family has also started a GoFundMe.
