HPD: 3 taken to hospital after shooting on Houston's south side

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Three people were taken to the hospital after a drive-by shooting Monday afternoon on Houston's south side.

Investigators said multiple people were inside a tan Chevy SUV that drove into the parking lot on Scott Street and Southlawn Street. Someone inside that vehicle shot three young men who were standing in the parking lot, according to police. Those three men were taken to the hospital and are in good condition.

Gang investigators with the Houston Police Department were on scene. The shooting location is less than a block from Cullen Middle School.

"Obviously you want to keep children safe," Sgt. Mike Davis said. "You've got people that are out here on the street. It's just a shame this sort of stuff happens from a safety perspective, it's just an absolute shame."

No arrests have been made.
