HOUSTON (KTRK) -- During Black History Month, we want to share inspiring stories of people who have blazed the trail for the benefit of the next generation. You may know some of these people, but it's our hope to introduce you to these remarkable people that have touched lives here Houston.

ABC13 is proud to showcase these local stories, which we hope will remind us all that courage, perseverance and achievement can happen in our own back yard. Black history is American history.
