Montrose bridges celebrate grand re-lighting

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Just in time for the Super Bowl, the Southwest Freeway is going to be getting a makeover to welcome guests.

The Montrose area bridges unveiled new lighting Thursday night that allows designers to put any color up.

The $3.7 million project replaces outdated lighting that went out about a year after the bridges' construction.

The work has been ongoing since early fall.
