HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you're looking for a profession that pays well, you might want to consider a job in the medical industry.

US News & World Report released its best job rankings of 2017. The list determines the best professions based on average salary, employment rate, growth, job prospects, stress level and work-life balance.

Prosthodontist takes the 10th spot with an average salary of $161,020. A prosthodontist is a dentist who specializes in the esthetic restoration and replacement of teeth. According to the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontist, it is one of nine specialties recognized by the American Dental Association.

An oral surgeon is ranked no. 3, making an average salary of more than $233,000.

And the top spot goes to an anesthesiologist. They make $258, 100.
