Home invasion suspect shoots homeowner

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An intruder shot and wounded a man in his own home.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. in the 20600 block of Gable Ridge Dr. in southwest Harris County, police said.

Neighbors called police, reporting that they heard gunshots in the area.

When police arrived, they found a homeowner who had been shot by an armed intruder. Police are calling it a home invasion.

He was taken by medical helicopter and is expected to survive his wounds.
