Super Bowl 51 app offers pre-pay parking downtown

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Hate fighting over a parking spot? The Houston Super Bowl Host Committee is working to streamline parking ahead of game day with their mobile app. Drivers can now reserve and pre-pay for a parking spot around all of the fan events downtown.

Open the Super Bowl 51 app and click on 'Transportation.' Users can filter parking options by selecting the date, time, parking duration and proximity to desired destination.

Parking options ranged from $5 to $30 dollars.

Drivers who are looking for an easy and inexpensive way to park should look for the 'Free Shuttles' section in the app's drop-down list. That option will display parking spots that are farther away and cheaper, but have a shuttle option.

After making a selection, users can see a picture of the lot and get more parking details.

The app allows payment by credit card.
