Police chase ends after church parking lot incident
CHANNELVIEW, TX (KTRK) -- A police chase has ended at a Valero gas station on I-10 eastbound near Channelview after police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in a church parking lot.
The chase began shortly after 5am when officers arrived at the church parking lot and the driver took off, leading officers on a 15-minute chase from Hughes Road and Beltway 8 and then going east on the Belt to I-10.
The chase eventually went inbound to Uvalde and ended at the Valero gas station on the I-10 inbound feeder. At one point during the chase, at least 10 law enforcement vehicles chased the suspect's car.
Police have the driver in custody, and charges are pending.
