Festive cocktails to get you in the holiday spirit

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- This menu of holiday cocktails is our gift to you!

Autumn Sangria

Ward off the winter blues with this warm concoction

Ingredients:

-2 cinnamon sticks, plus more for serving

-2 medium apples, thinly sliced (I prefer Honeycrisp)

-1 medium pear, thinly sliced

-1 medium orange, thinly sliced

-2/3 cup pomegranate seeds

-1 (750 ml) bottle white wine (I suggest a Pinot Grigio)

-2 cups apple cider

-1/2 cup brandy

-1/4 cup orange juice

-2 Tablespoons lemon juice

-Club soda, for serving

Instructions:

Place the cinnamon sticks and fruit into a large pitcher. Add wine, apple cider, brandy, orange juice, and lemon juice. Allow to sit in the refrigerator for 3 - 24 hours (6-8 hours is best!).

Pour the sangria and fruit into glasses. Add a splash of club soda. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, if desired.

Caramel Apple Sangria

Apple Cider Margarita

Surprise your dinner guests this Thanksgiving with a unique, on-theme cocktail...an Apple Cider Margarita!

serves 1, is easily multiples

Ingredients:

-1 ounce Grand Marnier

-1 ounce gold tequila

-5-6 ounces sweet apple cider

-orange segments and apple slices

-cinnamon + cane sugar + coarse sugar for glass rimming

-cinnamon sticks for garnish

Instructions:

Spread a few spoonfuls of cane sugar, coarse sugar and cinnamon onto a plate. Run an orange segment around the edge of the glass, then press the glass into the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat the rim. Toss a few orange slices in the bottom of the glass. Fill the glass with ice and add the Grand Marnier, tequila and apple cider. Stir the mixture. Garnish with apple slices and cinnamon sticks.

Pumpkin Tequila Cocktail

This is not only a gorgeous cocktail, but way easier to make than it looks.

Ingredients:

-1 Tablespoon of Pumpkin Puree

-1 Tablespoon of Coconut Milk

-1 1/2 oz Tequila Blanco

-1/2 oz Cointreau

-Cinnamon

Instructions:

Place the pumpkin puree, coconut milk, Cointreau and tequila in a mixer over ice. Pour into a glass and sprinkle some cinnamon on top.

Spiced Apple Moscow Mule

This cocktail only has three ingredients!

Ingredients

-1 oz Kraken Rum

-1 oz Apple Cider

-6 oz Spiced Apple Ginger Beer

Cranberry Boulevardier

This cocktail is so easy to make!

Ingredients:

-bourbon

-cranberries,

-campari

-sweet vermouth

Instructions:

Mix ingredients and add cranberries!

Cinnamon Blueberry Old Fashioned

This drink gives your traditional Old Fashioned a holiday twist and promises to give you nerves of steel

Cinnamon Simple Syrup Ingredients:

-1 cup water

-3/4 cup coconut sugar or brown sugar

-2 cinnamon sticks

Blueberry Old Fashioned Ingredients

-1 ounce bourbon

-1 ounce blueberry juice (mash 34 cup defrosted frozen blueberries through a fine mesh strainer using the back of a spoon)

-1 ounce cinnamon simple syrup

-2-3 dashes bitters

-5-6 frozen blueberries

-Sparkling water to top off the drink

-Ice

Cinnamon Simple Syrup Instructions

1. In a small saucepan over medium high heat, whisk together water and sugar; add in cinnamon sticks.

2. Bring the mixture to a boil and continue to boil for about 5 minutes or until syrup has thickened slightly.

3. Remove syrup from heat and let cool.

4. Extra syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Blueberry Old Fashioned Instructions

1. For each drink, fill a highball glass with ice. Pour in the bourbon, blueberry juice, 1 ounce cinnamon simple syrup, and bitters; stir until combined.

2. Add in frozen blueberries and top with sparkling water. Garnish with cinnamon stick, if desired.
