More than 100 reports of bright light in sky over Florida

VENICE, FL -- There were multiple reports of a bright flash in the sky over Florida late Monday night, believed to be a fireball.

A fireball is a brighter-than-usual meteor. The American Meteor Society received more than 150 reports of a bright light in the sky, from Key West to the Florida panhandle.

Reports also came from Georgia and Alabama.

A camera on a Venice Police Department officer's vehicle camera caught footage of the meteor around 11 p.m.
