Kids' Meals delivers free, turkeys this Thanksgiving

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A food giveaway in Houston will help feed more than a thousand families this Thanksgiving.

Kids' Meals was founded 10 years ago to help feed children in need. Since its inception, they've made special efforts to feed families during the holidays.

This year, more than 1,200 turkeys along with sides, desserts and more will be handed out. Distribution vans left the center Tuesday morning to make sure families are prepared for Thursday dinner.

The total cost for the meals is more than $16,000 and the center is asking for donations to make sure the program is available for Christmas meals as well.
