Police use Taser on rifle-wielding man in SE Houston standoff

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man who allegedly refused to put down a rifle sparked a SWAT standoff overnight in southeast Houston.

Police say the entire time, a woman and three children were inside the apartment unit where all of this happened on East Edgebrook.

Neighbors called 911 after hearing a man and woman fighting inside the apartment.

Police say when the SWAT team arrived, the man came out but resisted.

Officers had to use a Taser on him before arresting him.
