Houston police are on the scene of a train mishap in Kingwood.

Just before 1pm, police were called to the 300 block of Hamblen for a report of a train derailment on a bridge. Union Pacific officials say that for some reason, the bridge across the San Jacinto River just east of US 59 dipped in the center, and when a train tried to cross, it was put into a controlled emergency stop.

There were no derailments, spills or injuries. The train was cleared from the bridge and authorities have begun inspecting and assessing the bridge structure to determine the necessary repairs. The bridge is expected to be out of service for a few days.
