HOUSTON (KTRK) -- We have seen it all, the full range of emotions: Anger, joy, sadness and elation and yes, even disbelief from both voters on both sides.

Minute by minute, voters updated their phones to find the results of the election.

Some were not happy when they learned Donald Trump's chances of winning kept going up throughout the night.

"I'm disappointed in America," voter Yolanda Rodriguez said. "We could have done better. I'm pretty speechless, pretty speechless, yeah. No words, no words."

The vote so close, the election could not be called when most went to bed.

But with Trump expanding his lead in swing states, by 1:30, the Associated Press called the election, Donald Trump winning the White House and becoming president elect.

"Well, it is surprising and it's not surprising," voter Larry Basilio said. "I think it could of gone either way and we will see what happens in the morning."

The Associated Press has called the presidential race for Donald Trump. ABC News has not yet called the race.

Diane Lindsay, another voter, said she thinks it will be interesting to see what progresses in Washington.

"There was a shake up on both sides," Lindsay said.

It's interesting to note that about half the people we spoke with were upset and about half were pleased with the outcome.

When you see the national results, it seems to echo voters pretty much everywhere.
