If it works, why not try it?

A hip-hop song and music video endorsing Matt Murphy is going viral on social media after its release Friday morning. Murphy is a candidate for the Texas House of Representatives.

The song created by two brothers, Jay Candy and D-Money, came after the artists joint interview with Murphy at Houston's KCOH TV/Radio.

"We were really impressed with what Matt was saying during the interview. It was exactly what we were thinking. After researching him more, I knew that we needed to do everything we could to help him get elected. I called my brother up to meet me at the studio so we could produce the single," Jay Candy said in a statement.

In a statement, Murphy says the song and music video is gaining popularity because of its message.

"People like it because of the professional production and because it is a message of hope during an election season that has focused so much on division. It shows that when we all come together to stop, look, and listen to each other; we all start to realize we are looking for the same thing: UNITY," Murphy added.
