Social media is not pleased with Apple's new peach emoji

For as long as we can remember, Apple's peach emoji has held a special place in our hearts. The peach -- along with the eggplant, corn, taco and the water droplets -- has a decidedly mature connotation when used in the right context.

Until now.

Apple revealed a slew of new and redesigned emojis this week, including an updated peach emoji that looks less like a derriere and more like an actual peach, and avid texters are not pleased.

Peach lovers can rest assured for now, though, because the updated peach doesn't drop until iOS 10.2, which is expected later this year.
