Clear Creek High School shows off their first formation to SkyEye (KTRK)

When a near tragedy hit Clear Creek High, students pulled together to help one of their own.

"We are a family," said CCHS Principal Jamey Majewski. "We step up for each other when we need to."

Clear Creek High School is ready for the ABC13 Friday Flyover!



Their words turned to action this past Labor Day when a fellow CCHS Wildcat, Victoria Blackburn, needed it most. Her father, DPS Trooper Chad Blackburn, was almost killed when a suspected drunk driver crashed into him.
"I was listed in very critical condition at the very beginning," said Chad Blackburn.

Clear Creek HS shows off their second formation



It was then that the community rallied behind the Blackburns. Students organized a blood drive for the trooper. The turnout was incredible.

"We had to actually stop blood donations because there were so many people who wanted to come and help," said CCHS student Christine Ryan.

Those who couldn't give blood helped with a BBQ fundraiser. All the efforts gave their hero strength and encouragement to get better.
"I can't put it into words. It's just so amazing," said Victoria Blackburn.

This past weekend, doctors allowed Trooper Blackburn to leave his treatment facility to attend his daughter's play at the Wildcat Theater. He brought flowers for his daughter, and gave her so much more.

"It's a little taste of what I'm going to have once all of this complete," said Blackburn.
