Hilarious campaign ad goes viral
A hilarious campaign ad for a Texas candidate for office is going viral

In this tense campaign season, a humorous campaign ad for a Texas office is going viral for its humorous approach.

Party politics aside, the ad is being called the most hilarious of this election cycle.

The internet seems ready to toss aside ubiquitous, worrisome ads with apocalyptic concerns and claims of misogynistic behavior in favor of gentle eye-rolling, laundry folding and dinner party conversation-killing.

The Austin-area candidate, Gerald Daugherty, is seeking re-election as a county commissioner. And his light-hearted, non-confrontational election ad offers the laughter that the public was looking for.

In the short ad, Gerald Daugherty's wife Charlyn makes an almost desperate plea to get her husband re-elected -- mostly because he is always talking about his job.

"Gerald really doesn't have any hobbies," Charlyn Daugherty. "All he wants to do is fix things. Please re-elect Gerald -- please."

Gerald Daugherty-R is running for re-election as Travis County Commissioner in Precinct 3, against David Holmes-D.
