Officers say around 2am a blue vehicle was headed eastbound on I-10 and crashed into a black vehicle.

The impact caused the black vehicle to be thrown on the highway entrance ramp.

After that crash, another vehicle ran into the blue vehicle.

The passenger in the blue vehicle died.

The driver of the blue car is suspected of being under the influence.

Five other people, including the suspected drunk driver, all were taken to the hospital for injuries.

No word on their conditions.
