HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A former Lone Star College student found herself in the middle of an apparent road rage incident Friday afternoon in north Houston.

Mary Bell said she was driving near the Sam Houston Racetrack when she saw two black pick-up trucks chasing each other.

"An arm came out the window holding something," Bell explained. "And next thing I know there's a loud pop and there's a perfect circle in my window, the driver's side and then it just explodes all over the place."

Bell said the window shattered just as the trucks passed her up.

She drove about ten miles until she got to Lone Star College parking lot in Greenspoint, where she felt safe.

"I was frozen to the steering wheel," she said. "My knuckles were white."

Precinct 4 investigators were unable to find any bullets or other objects that could have broken her window.

"I can tell you investigators are scrutinizing video and other things that we have at our disposal to determine if in fact, it was a road rage, and if in fact a gun was involved," Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman said.

Herman says extra patrols will be added to the area until they can figure out if the incident was, in fact, road rage.
