Innocent driver injured in crash at end of police chase

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A high-speed police chase in northwest Harris County ended with a crash that sent an innocent driver to the hospital.

A call about a suspicious vehicle came in at about 10:15am. A car had been spotted sitting for a while in the 14200 block of Darrah.

When a deputy came in contact with the vehicle, the driver took off and didn't stop.

The pursuit reached speeds of 70 mph before the Lexus crashed into another car on Ella at Rushworth. The male driver of that car was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 28-year-old driver of the Lexus, who was alone in the car, was wanted on a warrant from the Harris County Sheriff's Office. He is now expected to be charged with evading as well.
