HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It was a family feud that turned bloody outside an HISD football game in northwest Houston, law enforcement sources told Eyewitness News.

According to sources, the altercation was between the birth father and the stepfather of a middle school football player. The birth father reportedly went to take a photo with his son at Delmar Stadium and the stepfather allegedly got angry.

Within minutes a fight broke out and police said the birth father allegedly stabbed the stepfather.

The stepfather was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition. The alleged stabber was taken into police custody.

Children were left waiting on a school bus and reportedly questioned by police about the stabbing.
