Four charged after alleged NW Houston kidnap attempt

Four men charged with kidnapping, accused of grabbing woman
Four men have been charged with kidnapping after allegedly attempting to abduct a woman in north Houston over the weekend.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police have filed kidnapping charges against four men who allegedly attempted to kidnap a woman at a northwest Houston apartment complex early Saturday morning.

According to charging documents, Hector Ortiz, Israel Cruz, Mario Carreon and Rafael Torres approached a 32-year-old woman in the common area of an apartment building on the 6300 block of Northline Drive.

The men reportedly grabbed the victim, pulling her into an apartment unit and attempting to undress her. She yelled for help and was eventually able to break out of the apartment and contact police.

All four men live in the same apartment complex as the victim; she was able to lead offices to her alleged kidnappers and identify them. All four have been arrested and charged with kidnapping.

Torres is out of jail on bond; the other three remain in custody.

Ortiz has a prior drug-related conviction, Cruz has a prior DWI conviction and Carreon has a 2001 trespassing conviction.
