DAYTON, TX (KTRK) --Nine students were transported to the hospital after a crash involving a Dayton ISD school bus and an SUV.
The school district says the students only suffered minor injuries.
Dayton police said several ambulances were called to the scene of the crash on Highway 321.
Five students were on the bus and four other students were in the SUV that overturned near Dayton High School.
The Department of Public Safety says the bus driver was a mechanic with the district and he was filling in for the bus driver that's usually on that route. DPS says he is licensed to drive a school bus, but it was not his fault, according to DPS.
