MCSO: Deputy shot at driver who tried to hit him

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A Montgomery County deputy opened fire on a truck he says was trying to run him down near Cleveland.

Cleveland Police tried to stop the stolen Ford F-150, but the man and a woman inside took off. Police say they tried to run the deputy over as he was putting out spike strips.

Eventually, they crashed into trees, and they got out and ran.

The woman got away, but the man was caught.

Deputies say the truck was stolen.
