HOUSTON (KTRK) -- During the second quarter of Friday night's Baylor-Rice game, a referee made an usual announcement.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please refrain from shooting lasers onto the field. Thank you."

Rice's offense had driven to the red zone early when quarterback Nate German took off on a run and was brought down six yards outside of the goal line. Subsequent replays showed a large green laser dancing on the turf of Rice Stadium in the vicinity of where German was running.

Rice settled for a field goal to open the game's scoring to cap the drive.

No lasers were seen after the referee's polite request.
