Fire breaks out at church in E. Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An arson investigation is underway after an early morning fire at an east Houston church.

The fire broke out just before 3am at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church on Market Street at Pannell Street.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy flames and black smoke pouring from the roof of the church.

Investigators say they do not know the cause of the fire yet, and that arson investigators are looking into the blaze.

Fortunately, no one was hurt at the church.
