Husband dead, wife badly injured in attempted murder suicide in W. Harris Co.
HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A man is dead and his wife is in the hospital after an attempted murder suicide in west Harris County.
The Harris County Pct. 5 Constable's Office says a woman called 911 around 8:05am and said her husband shot her in the back, and that she believed her husband also shot himself.
When deputies arrived to a home on Red Rock Canyon near S. Peek Road, they found the woman lying on the floor with a gunshot wound.
The body of a man was found in the next room, also with a gunshot wound.
The female victim was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital. At last check, she was is in critical condition.
Authorities say they have not been called to the home before, and that it does not have a history of domestic violence.
Law enforcement officers are working to get a search warrant for the home to investigate further what may have led to the shooting.
