HOUSTON (KTRK) --Detectives are trying to track down the suspects behind a deadly shooting inside an apartment that killed a young woman.
"Witnesses reported seeing a black newer model Camaro with standard rims and tinted windows drive by the house and fire multiple rounds," Mark Holdbrook with the Houston Police Department homicide unit said.
According to police, a man and a woman were inside that car, and family members believe their loved one, Kendra Childs, 19, was targeted.

"I feel very broken, and it just hurt because she didn't deserve to go like this. I understand it was her time, but she didn't have to go like this. She didn't even make it to her birthday tomorrow," Childs' cousin Angel Whitaker said.
It happened at the Uvalde Ranch apartments on South Lake Houston Pkwy. Investigators say the victim was alone while her boyfriend was at work.
Police say the shooter never came inside the apartment complex; instead they stood on the road aiming the gun up to the second level apartment where Childs was.
A bullet struck Childs and when her boyfriend got home, she was already dead.
"If you can see it's just a blank wall, they wouldn't have had known someone was exactly in there and it was a very unlucky shot," Holdbrook said.
Detectives say they got a tip that lead them to Noah and Scott St. There, police found a black Camaro. Detectives searched it, but haven't said if the car was involved in the shooting that killed Childs.
Now, a one-year-old baby girl is left without her mother.
"Whoever did this, they were wrong and we will get justice for her," Whitaker added.
