First responders rescue 2 adults and 2 infants from car fire (KTRK)

The Charles County Sheriff's Office released video of two officers rushing in to save two adults and two infants from a car crash after their vehicle erupts into flames.

The accident occurred on September 3. The dramatic video was published on September 10, showing Officer Lamar Hamilton and Corporal Brad Saunders pulling out victims and putting out the fire within minutes of arriving on the scene.

Officer Justin Bottorf rescued the driver and Officer Hamilton carried the two infants to safety. Firefighters arriving minutes later saved a second adult that had been trapped in the car.

A third adult victim was ejected from the crash. Sheriff Troy Berry recognized a local resident who came forward after the wreck occured to hand a first responder a fire extinguisher.

The five passengers were life-flighted to a hospital where two remained in critical condition.

"These are the horrific scenes officers and firefighters encounter frequently. They didn't have time to think, they just reacted. We thank God for their bravery and for the help of the citizen, they certainly helped save the lives of those in the car." said Sheriff Berry in a statement posted to Charles County Sheriff facebook page.
