HOUSTON (KTRK) --It was the middle of Saturday afternoon when police were called to a southwest Houston parking lot.
"We've heard of things happening but I've never seen anything like this. It's kind of scary," a neighbor said.
Investigators say a man was sitting behind the wheel of a car when he was attacked and shot more than once, and likely by more than one person.
"We believe gunmen may have been in two different vehicles so we are still looking into what those vehicles were," HPD Homicide investigator D. Williamson said.
Shell casings littered the parking lot in front of a sports bar on Wilcrest near Harwin but police may be interested in another possible clue: business cards scattered in the lot. Those cards may or may not be related to the crime.
"We have a lot of camera evidence to go through and a lot of witness reports to follow up on," Williamson added.
Homicide detectives don't know why the man was there or if he had gone into one of the businesses nearby. Detectives say it was not a drive-by shooting.
"I hope they find who did it and I hope they find them fast because this is where we live," said a neighbor.
