Woman found dead inside a SE Houston home

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman is found dead inside of a home on John Street, inside the loop on the southeast side of Houston.

Detectives say they received a call at 3:30am on Saturday from the woman's common-law-husband.

He said the two got into an argument, he left the house and then he heard a gunshot.

The husband stated that the woman had committed suicide.

However, police found evidence suggesting there were multiple gun shots fired and also found signs of a struggle inside of the home.

Investigators are looking at the husband as a person of interest.
