NYPD officers send orphan to Disney World
Officers from the NYPD gave 7-year-old Tyron Lowe the opportunity of a lifetime.

BROX, NEW YORK (KTRK) -- Officers from the NYPD gave 7-year-old Tyron Lowe the opportunity of a lifetime.

Lowe was orphaned after he witnessed a horrific incident in his home.

The boy was just six when investigators say his father killed his mother before taking off and eventually killing himself.

The 7-year-old never had the opportunity to go to Disney World with his parents so the officers from the 49th Precinct started collecting money amongst themselves and from other Bronx precincts. They were eventually able to raise enough money to send Lowe to the most magical place on Earth.

BronxNews 12 reports that the officers also gave Lowe a $5,000 check that is going into a college fund.

Officers say they hope to grow the fund so that they can continue to provide Lowe with the best opportunities for his future.
