HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) --A man is dead, a wrecker driver in the hospital and a woman is now behind bars after a shooting in east Harris County.
The family have identified the killed man as 38-year-old Tyrone Scyrus.
Detectives are still trying to figure out exactly what happened after two men were shot on Kenny Street at Marwood.
Scyrus' 15-year-old son told abc13 that he was working on the car with his father when the suspects pulled up.
His dad approached the car, where he seemed to have recognized someone. That's when he reportedly turned to run and the suspect got out of the car and shot his dad.
Investigators were at the scene for more than eight hours trying to find out who was responsible. At one point, they put out a description of a vehicle believed involved in the shooting.
They found the car a couple of miles away, and this is where things start to get fuzzy for detectives.
Wrecker driver, Aaron Rodriguez, who heard the call showed up and ended up getting shot himself, but the shooter is unknown.
A man inside the car was taken into custody, and woman was seen running away from deputies.
They used a K-9 unit to track down the woman. She was bitten and taken to the hospital for treatment. We're waiting for her to be released from surgery so investigators can question her about who was actually involved in the shooting.
Investigators also want to question Rodriguez about who was shot.
Eyewitness News spoke with Aaron Rodriguez's mother, Tonya Rodriguez, at the hospital. She said, "He's hurting. I mean it hurts as a mom to see it happen."
