Officers arrested a man who led police on a chase through three counties overnight.

Patton Village police attempted to stop Sixto Martinez, 32, for allegedly driving drunk on Creekwood at 1st Street in east Montgomery County.

Martinez is accused of ignoring police as he continued to drive towards Splendora.

Police say the man blew out a tire when he missed the railroad crossing at FM 2090 and Business 59, going over the tracks and onto the rails.

At one point, Martinez allegedly sped down Highway 59 at nearly 70 mph while Roman Forest police pursued the man along with other agencies.

Officers say the chase ended at State Highway 150 and US 59 in Shepherd after Martinez abruptly stopped.

Martinez is charged with driving while intoxicated and felony evading.

In all, the chase extended through Montgomery, Liberty and San Jacinto counties for more than 24 miles.

He reportedly only had a Mexican Consular ID at the time of his arrest.
