Investigators are looking for man who likely set fire to the home in NE Houston.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A shooting and house fire broke out around the same location in northeast Houston last night.

The double incident happened at the 3000 block of Kashmere and Crane on I-45 north.

According to both the sister and father of the man shot, the victim is John Presley.

Tori Presley, his sister, says John was shot Sunday evening at least three times. He was shot once in the upper thigh, once in the leg and a bullet grazed his face. She says he is stable in the hospital right now.

Presley says the man who shot her brother lived a few homes down in the same home that caught fire.

Investigators agree with Presley that the man who lives in that house likely set fire to his own place.

Arson investigators are calling him a "suspect" but have not released his name. He is not in custody.

While his family was visiting John at the hospital, Tori says she got a panicked call from her mother.

Her mother said the neighbor who shot her son was banging on doors and threatening her. She says the fire started shortly after the commotion, around 3am Monday.

Police continue looking for the shooter.

"He's still out there, yeah that's real scary. If he's done this, if this has happened in one night, he's still capable. So I want him off the street. I hope they can get him off the street," said Maurice Presley, John's father.
