TX teacher arrested at Houston airport for alleged improper relationship

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Texas teacher accused of a having an improper relationship with a student was arrested in Houston as he returned from a trip.

Former teacher Ian James Edgeley was arrested Thursday at the airport in Houston after an international trip. Edgeley, 31, is accused of having a relationship with a student at Vista Ridge High School in Round Rock, Texas. Edgeley's wife contacted authorities when she suspected the relationship.

Police say they checked his phone and computer and found nude photos of the victim and intimate communications.

Authorities believe Edgeley may have had or may have attempted to have relationships with previous students either during his time as a Leander ISD teacher or as a teacher and soccer coach during the 2014-2015 school year at Round Rock High School or during his tenure as a student teacher and substitute teacher during the 2013-2014 school year at RRHS.
