All main lanes shut down on 288 at CR-57 due to HazMat spill

All main lanes on 288 at CR-57 are shut down after a five-vehicle accident involving a tanker truck.

TxDot says the tanker truck was leaking an acid-type substance onto the road. Areas nearby the spill are being evacuated as a precaution.

Two people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officials have no timeline on when the road will be back open. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
