Blue Bell announces new mystery flavor

BRENHAM, TX (KTRK) -- If you're looking for a tasty way to beat the summer heat, Blue Bell has your answer.

In celebration of National Ice Cream Month, Blue Bell announced a new ice cream flavor.

Cookie Two Step is a creamy vanilla ice cream with hints of brown sugar, combined with chunks of chocolate cream-filled cookies and chocolate chip cookie dough pieces. The new flavor is available in stores now.

"Cookie Two Step combines ingredients from two of our top-selling flavors," Blue Bell spokesman Ricky Dickson said in a news release.

The new flavor will be available in limited quantities in the half-gallon and pint sizes.

Dickson said the company will release more flavors within the next few months.

He said, "Most will be returning favorites and we plan to have another new one soon."
