HOUSTON (KTRK) --Are you ready to celebrate the 4th of July? We have your Independence Day celebrations covered with Freedom Over Texas on Monday, July 4 at Eleanor Tinsley Park. If you are doing any driving in the area, you likely already see some barricades and lane closures.
Starting Saturday, the exit ramps from I-45 Northbound and Southbound to Allen Parkway will shut down at 9:00am. Additionally, the westbound lanes of Allen Parkway will close at Bagby, and the eastbound lanes will close at Taft. The lanes will reopen after the festivities, at 5:00am on Tuesday.
On Monday, July 4th Allen Parkway will be closed eastbound at Waugh, from 5:00pm to 10:30pm. Memorial Drive will also be closed eastbound at Waugh, from 5:00pm-10:30pm and westbound at Bagby, from 5:30pm to 10:30pm. For a full list of closures, click here.
The best alternate route around the closure is I-10.
Parking is available in the Theater District Parking Garages, as well as the Hobby Center Parking Garage.
