PORTLAND, OR (KTRK) -- Thousands of naked bikers bared all as they took to the streets in protest.
The World Naked Bike Ride, now in its fifth year, protests against the world's dependence on fossil fuels.

Organizer Stephen Upchurch says Portland has been an excellent host to the event, and has allowed riders to come without fear of arrest.
"We're celebrating our bodies in a positive way," Upchurch says.
While indecent exposure is a violation of the city code, the Portland Police Department says because the ride is a protest, none of the riders are cited.

A biker could face citation, however, if they start the ride early or go off the route and cause a disruption in neighborhoods not designated for the ride.
"Portland has in many ways embraced it as part of what makes us Portlandia," says Sgt. Pete Simpson.
