Veteran receives apology after rude letter left on car
After the story about a veteran receiving a negative note went viral, Rebecca Hayes has since received a sincere apology letter

CONCORD, NC -- A veteran who received a negative note on her car parked in a space reserved for veterans last week received a different letter from the same person. This time, it was an apology letter.

Rebecca Hayes told ABC11 that the sincere apology letter was mailed to her work, with no return address or signature.

The original note left on her car read, "This parking is for Veterans, lady. Learn to read and have some respect."

Hayes later responded to the unsigned note on Facebook, writing that she's sorry the writer couldn't see her eight years in the United States Navy, and can't imagine that there are female veterans. She also said she was sorry she had to explain herself "to people like you," and couldn't speak in person to whoever left the note.

She concluded by saying, "I served, did you?"
